T.I.P.’s Quality Management System successfully passes the ISO 9001: 2015 Surveillance Audit (P2)

The Technological Institute of the Philippines’ (T.I.P.) Quality Management System (QMS) has successfully passed the recently concluded ISO 9001:2015 Surveillance Audit conducted by Det Norske Veritas-Germanischer Lloyd (DNV-GL) auditors Mr. Peter Dombey and Ms. Joy Cerrafon last September 2-3, 2019.

The surveillance audit’s aim is to ensure continued compliance of the organizarion’s policies and processes with the ISO standard as well as the organization’s compliance with various regulatory requirements.

The T.I.P. Quality Management Office (QMO) facilitated the ISO 9001:2015 Surveillance Audit (P2), saying it will conduct further post audit learning sessions in order to optimize the audit findings of DNV-GL.

The successful completion of the surveillance audit demonstrates T.I.P.’s commitment in providing excellent services and delivering consistent performance to its stakeholders. It also paves the way for the successful recertification of T.I.P.’s QMS on 2020.

The status “ISO 9001 certified” means an institution or organization has met the requirements of ISO 9001, which is also known as the ISO 9001 Quality Management System (QMS). ISO 9001 certified institutions enjoy increased job satisfaction among employees, improved morale, and improved operational results.

Engr. Conrado Naval, T.I.P. Assistant Vice President for Strategic Initiatives, explained, “ISO certification means better management of processes, increase efficiency and productivity. In a school setting, this increased productivity and efficiency will lead to the delivery of quality education.”

T.I.P.’s QMS has been certified compliant to the international standard ISO 9001 since 1999, or for a total of two decades as of writing. The ISO 9001 evaluates whether an institution’s Quality Management System is appropriate and effective, while stressing the importance of identifying and implementing improvements.
