T.I.P. Engineers run through Hyperwash Vipers in 21-point victory

The Technological Institute of the Philippines (T.I.P.) Engineers continue to build momentum with a 21-point rout of the Hyperwash Vipers, notching their second win in the 2019 PBA D-League Foundation Cup, 92-71, last July 29, 2019 at the Pasig Ynares Sports Arena.

The T.I.P. Engineers ended the first quarter with a 7-point, 28-21 lead over their matchup, while the second quarter saw both clubs neck and neck with 23 points and each for a 51-44 halftime tally in favor of the Engineers.

The game opened up for the Engineers as they ended the third quarter with a 14-point advantage 73-59. T.I.P. then ran away with the game thanks to their 16-3 fourth frame opener that grew their lead by as much as 27 points, 89-62, with just 3:59 remaining in the match.

T.I.P. dominated the game down low, grabbing 63 boards to their opponent’s 42, and scoring 48 points in the paint to the Hyperwash Vipers’ 22.

Papa Ndiaye and Bryan Santos were again the T.I.P. Engineers’ top performers. Ndiaye scored a game high 28 points to go along with 17 rebounds, 1 steal and 1 block; while Santos contributed 19 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal, and 1 block. Christian Daguro also added 12 points and 2 rebounds to the Engineers’ winning effort.

The T.I.P. Engineers now have a 2-0 standing and are set to face BRT Sumisip Basilan-St. Clare for their third game on August 5, 2019 at the Pasig Ynares Sports Arena.
