T.I.P. signs agreement with Metrobank for new batch of ACCESS Scholars

The Technological Institute of the Philippines (T.I.P.) signed a memorandum of agreement (MOA) with the Metrobank Foundation, Inc. (MBFI) for the implementation of the MBFI-T.I.P. ACCESS III Scholarship Program. The scholarship program will grant financial assistance to 10 talented but financially-disadvantaged T.I.P. students until S.Y. 2021-2022.

Under the agreement, T.I.P. and MBFI will select a total of 10 deserving students to become ACCESS III scholars. These students must currently have and must maintain good academic standing and good moral character, on top of being able to pay it forward through voluntary internship work in MBFI during its Summer Internship Program for Scholars. MBFI will also provide the selected ACCESS III scholars with skills training, enhancement programs, and other activities that will help them succeed in their college life and beyond.

Through the T.I.P. Career Center, T.I.P. is able to partner with companies, such as MBFI, who provide additional scholarships that augment T.I.P.’s traditional scholarships and financial support for its students. Currently, T.I.P .provides full-tuition scholarships through the Engr. Demetrio A. Quirino, Jr. Scholarship Grant for Engineering and Architecture and the Dr. Teresita U. Quirino Scholarship Grant for Accounting and Education, as well as its entrance scholarships for senior high school graduates with highest and high honors. T.I.P. also gives Entrance Discounts to qualified senior high school students and Academic Scholarship Grants to enrolled students with excellent academic standing. Additionally, the institution provides further opportunities to its students through programs such as student assistantship, tutorship, and leadership.

The MOA signing ceremony was attended by Aniceto Sobrepeña, Metrobank Foundation Inc. President; Irene Labitad, Metrobank Foundation Inc. Assistant Executive Director; Dr. Elizabeth Quirino-Lahoz, T.I.P. President; and Dr. Frank Alejandrino, T.I.P. Career Center Director; along with other ACCESS III Scholarship Program partner educational institutions.
