T.I.P. celebrates Commencement Exercise 2018

The Technological Institute of the Philippines (T.I.P.) Quezon City and Manila held its Commencement Exercises for their 2,826 graduating students at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) on May 8, 2018 and 9, 2018 respectively.

In her commencement address, T.I.P. President Dr. Elizabeth Quirino-Lahoz congratulated the students and told them that the graduation was the culmination of a long and challenging but ultimately rewarding journey. She also reminded the graduates to carry with them the Filipino, Industry-desired, and Global citizen values they learned in T.I.P.

The commencement speaker this year was Engr. Cesar Dela Paz Caraig, CEO of Craig Construction and Industrial Plant Services, Inc. and Sole Proprietor and President of Buildia Industrial Supplies, a proud alumnus of T.I.P. BS Civil Engineering batch 1989.

In his speech, Engr. Caraig shared his fond memories in the institution. He recalled how the institution molded him into the person he is today. He further encouraged the graduates to continue pursuing their dreams, further stressing that their failures do not define who they are or who they will be in the future. He also commended T.I.P. for providing its students quality education that is continuously improving.

“Leaving your comfort zone is the hardest part, but giving up will be your greatest failure,” Engr. Caraig said. “I encourage you to take that leap and challenge yourself to dream big. Dreaming big will give you the initiative to accomplish great things,” he added.

The institution also conferred its first professional Science Master's Degree in Construction Management. The traditional graduation march and receiving of individual awards and diplomas mark the beginning of the graduates’ journey as they continue to represent the Technological Institute of the Philippines in their respective fields. The commencement exercise marks the 56th for T.I.P. Manila and 33rd for T.I.P. Quezon City. Both ceremonies were broadcasted live on the official T.I.P. Facebook page.
