NETC’s Training and Development Center benchmarks in T.I.P.

The Training Development Center (TDC) of the Naval Education and Training Command (NETC), the premier training institution of the Philippine Navy, visited the Technological Institute of the Philippines (T.I.P.) Manila recently to conduct its Faculty Immersion Program in the school.

NETC-TDC, visited T.I.P. with the aim to learn about the school’s best practices particularly in the application of technology in teaching and learning. The NETC-TDC delegation was composed of 31 members, officials and training officers, headed by TDC Acting Director, Maj. Kristine Salon.

T.I.P. Manila’s program chairs from the Maritime, Engineering and Architecture, and Information Technology Education departments together with the Dean of College of Engineering and Architecture, Engr. Florante Magnaye and Dean of the College of Information Technology Education, Dr. Jonathan Caballero, acquainted the visiting team with T.I.P.’s best practices on faculty development, technology application in teaching and learning, and research among others.

A tour of both T.I.P. Arlegui and P. Casal was done afterwards where the visitors were able to see the different school facilities including its laboratories and observe ongoing classes.

The benchmarking visit is expected to further improve and modernize NETC, and foster a greater partnership between the Philippine Navy and T.I.P.
