T.I.P.’s organization for women engineers, Inhinyera, gears up for its official launch

The Technological Institute of the Philippines takes a big step towards the greater recognition and empowerment of women in the field of engineering as Inhinyera, T.I.P.’s organization for women engineers, gears up for its official launch and induction of initial members and officers this coming August 18 from 9:00-11:30 a.m. and 2:00-4:30 p.m. in Quezon City Campus and Manila Campus respectively.

Inhinyera is an advocacy campaign directed towards inspiring young women to take on engineering as a career path and empowering them to break down barriers in a male-dominated field.

Through Inhinyera, T.I.P. takes the lead in empowering not only the women of today but the promising women engineers of the future. “The Philippines needs engineers. But more particularly, the Philippines needs more women engineers,” said T.I.P. President, Dr. Elizabeth Quirino-Lahoz in a message to Inhinyera officers and advisors. Dr. Lahoz also stressed the importance of creating a buzz for women engineers and igniting the interest of more young women to become future engineers themselves.

Interested T.I.P. female engineering students who are not members of Inhinyera yet, with an advocacy of women empowerment in engineering, are encouraged to see the following:
