TIP Education Dean is PRC Teaching Awardee

Dr. Brenda B. Corpuz, Dean of the College of Education of the Technological Institute of the Philippines (TIP) Quezon City, was recently chosen as the recipient of the 2014 Outstanding Professional of the Year Award in the field of Teaching by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) in the awarding ceremonies held during the PRC Awards Night on June 20, 2014 at the Reception Hall of the Philippine International Convention Center.

The “Outstanding Professional of the Year Award” is the highest award bestowed by the PRC upon a professional as recommended by the peers.

Some of the criteria in the selection include ample demonstration of professional competence of the highest degree; display of integrity in the conduct of the profession; participation in meaningful professional activities through the professional organization; significant contribution to the advancement of the profession; and significant contribution to the effective discharge of the profession’s social responsibility through meaningful participation in socio-related activities.

Dr. Corpuz is the president of the Philippine Association for Teacher Education (PAFTE), a national association of teachers and teacher educators. She is a member of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Technical Panel for Teacher Education and chair of the technical committee for educational leadership and foundation for the graduate teacher education.
