TIP Conducts International Workshop on Higher Education Leadership and Management

The Technological Institute of the Philippines (TIP), in coordination with USAID Higher Education Leadership and Management (HELM), Indonesian Directorate General of Higher Education, University of Kentucky, and Seameo Innotech, recently conducted a workshop on higher education leadership and management for the five participating universities from Indonesia held at the Anniversary Hall of TIP Quezon City.

The workshop was part of the benchmarking exercise conducted by a group of higher education institutions from Indonesia. The group visited TIP to learn and discover the best practices of TIP related to outcomes-based education, international and local accreditation, and quality management systems. The visiting universities include Politeknik Aceh, Universitas Syiah Kuala, Universitas Lambung Mangkurat, Universitas Islam Negeri Sultan Syarif Kasim Riau, and Universitas Hasanuddin.

The visit also aimed to improve the capacities of the participating schools by developing models and approaches to the core management areas such as general administration and leadership, financial management, quality assurance, and collaboration with external stakeholders.

TIP discussed how the school achieved competitive advantage over the years by having clear goals, harnessing the power of strong community spirit, and attaining quality education through international and local accreditation and certification. Group interaction and learning exchanges followed after the discussions. Signing of Memorandum of Agreements between TIP and selected Indonesian schools and a tour of TIP Quezon City’s campus concluded the event.
