The Technological Institute of the Philippines (TIP) recently celebrated its 52nd foundation anniversary with the theme “[email protected]: Onwards to Internationalization.”

The weeklong celebration commenced with an anniversary mass followed by the opening of the science and technology fair where various student-designed projects were exhibited. Student research presentations, service awards, model student search, cultural presentations, blood donation drive, student concert, and employees’ night were among the highlights of the foundation celebration.

Other activities such as student quiz contests, PE field demonstrations, silent drills, cheer dance competition, student and employees’ sportsfests, and student-alumni congress were also conducted.

TIP was founded in 1962 by Engr. Demetrio A. Quirino Jr. and his wife Dr. Teresita U. Quirino to provide quality technological education that is within reach of every Filipino. Inspired by the founders’ vision of education excellence, TIP is committed to continuous improvement and always strives to make education more relevant and meaningful.

Today, TIP stands tall as a leading school in the fields of engineering, architecture, information technology, maritime studies, business education, teacher education, arts and all its other academic offerings. TIP recently garnered simultaneous international accreditation of 18 of its Engineering and Computing programs from the US-based ABET, formerly known as the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology. ABET is the recognized accreditor of college and university programs in applied science, computing, engineering, and engineering technology. ABET accreditation demonstrates a program’s commitment to providing its students with quality education.

Through international and local accreditation and certification and a wide variety of extracurricular activities, TIP prepares and empowers its students to become future leaders. TIP is headed by its third President, Dr. Elizabeth Quirino-Lahoz.
