T.I.P. signs new collective bargaining agreement with employees` union

The Technological Institute of the Philippines (T.I.P.) and the T.I.P. Teachers and Employees Organization (TIPTEO) have signed a new collective bargaining agreement (CBA) covering the school years 2019-2020 to 2023-2024. Dr. Elizabeth Quirino-Lahoz, T.I.P. President; Angelo Q. Lahoz, T.I.P. Senior Vice President; and TIPTEO officers witnessed the CBA’s formal signing on May 29, 2019.

The negotiations for the new CBA were concluded in a record two and a half days, reflecting the level of trust and goodwill between T.I.P. employees and the institution’s management. With the new agreement in place, T.I.P. is set to maintain its sustainable operation for the foreseeable future, as well as enabling it to maintain its thrust of providing quality yet affordable education to the Filipino youth.

The T.I.P. panel was chaired by Alicia Napud, Vice President for Finance and Administration, assisted by the management panel members which include Engr. Jemuel Castillo, Vice President for Quality Management and Planning; Engr. Conrado Navalta, Assistant Vice President for Quality Management and Planning; and Ena Maigue, Management Panel Secretary and Human Resources Officer for Employee Relations.

Meanwhile, the TIPTEO panel was chaired by Dr. Lorna Dimatatac, TIPTEO President and College of Arts Faculty Member, assisted by the following union panel members: Engr. Efren Chavez, TIPTEO Vice President and Chemical Engineering Faculty Member; Paul Pesito, TIPTEO Board Member and College of Business Education Faculty Member; Minda Eduarte, TIPTEO Secretary and College of Education Faculty Member; and Basilio Macale, TIPTEO P.R.O. and T.I.P. Senior Librarian.

The new five-year CBA was unanimously ratified by TIPTEO members and is already registered at the Department of Labor and Employment.
