TIP hosts training of PACUCOA accreditors on outcomes-based assessment

The Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (PACUCOA) in cooperation with the Technological Institute of the Philippines (TIP) held its seminar with practicum to train new accreditors on outcomes-based accreditation to survey varied programs offered by educational institutions. The training was held last July 3-4, 2014 at TIP Quezon City.

The training started with an orientation which covered the overview and rationale of accreditation, the basic principles and objectives of accreditation, as well as a lecture-discussion on behaviour and verification techniques for accreditors during accreditation visits. The participants were given an opportunity to experience the process of accreditation during the practicum phase of the training when they conducted mock survey of a school using the facilities of TIP. A total of 218 accreditors from all over the country were trained to evaluate various programs.

The newly-trained accreditors made their oath before the PACUCOA commissioners as a fitting ending to the productive two-day training. Henceforth, they will be assigned as members of accrediting teams to various PACUCOA-member schools.
