T.I.P. Quezon City partners with the Philippine Commission on Women

The Technological Institute of the Philippines (T.I.P.) Quezon City recently signed a Memorandum of Agreement with the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) for the development of a mobile application to raise awareness and report or seek immediate assistance related to Violence Against Women (VAW).

The Android Mobile Application aims to provide pertinent information containing salient features of the Philippines Laws related to VAW, provide help lines where VAW victim-survivor can seek appropriate assistance, provide emergency modules that will send alerting signals, provide location module to search for the nearest hospitals and/or police stations that offer services to VAW victim-survivor.

The MOA signing held on Wednesday, 22 November 2017, was attended by Ms. Emmeline L. Verzosa, PCW Executive Director, Ms. Honey M. Castro, PCW IRMD, Chief, Mr. Angelo C. Lahoz, T.I.P. Senior Vice President, Dr. Cynthia C. Llanes, T.I.P. Vice President for Academic Affairs, together with the dean, IT program chair, faculty members, and student developers from the T.I.P. Quezon City College of Information and Technology Education.
