T.I.P. Quezon City partners with Department of Agriculture-Bureau of Animal Industry

The Technological Institute of the Philippines (T.I.P.) Quezon City recently signed a Memorandum of Agreement with the Department of Agriculture-Bureau of Animal Industry (DA-BAI) for the development of a mobile application to support the Rabies-Free 2020 program.

Developed by T.I.P. BS Information Technology students, Christian O. Gan, Aldrin M. Paganpan, and Stephanie Anne M. Sadim, with the guidance of their adviser, Dr. Rosmina Joy M. Cabauatan, the Android mobile application aims to lessen the threat of rabies to human health through information dissemination. The app provides relevant information for pet owners, such as information about prevention, transmission of virus, treatment, pet owner responsibilities, locations of nearest animal bite treatment centers, and contact information of different animal diagnostic laboratories all over the Philippines.

The MOA signing held on October 2, 2017 was attended by DA-BAI officials headed by Assistant Secretary for Livestock, Dr. Enrico P. Garzon Jr., and T.I.P. Quezon City academic officers and students led by T.I.P. QC Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Cynthia C. Llanes.
